What the SVG includes
The generated SVG marks the back cover, spine, front cover, bleed area, trim-sized panels, and a barcode reserve. It is a guide, not a finished print-ready cover.
Because the SVG has physical inch dimensions, design tools that respect SVG sizing can import it as a layout reference.
Best use
Generate the template after the manuscript page count is final. If page count changes, regenerate the guide and update the cover spine.
Example trim and paper references
| Preset | Use case |
|---|---|
| 5 x 8 in | Compact fiction and nonfiction paperbacks. |
| 5.5 x 8.5 in | Common memoir, fiction, and trade paperback size. |
| 6 x 9 in | Popular trade paperback and low-content book size. |
| 7 x 10 in | Workbooks, manuals, and larger nonfiction. |
FAQ
Is the download a print-ready PDF?

Can I use the template in Canva?
