Bleed in cover design
Bleed gives artwork extra space beyond the trim edge so color or images can reach the finished edge after cutting. This calculator uses 0.125 inches on each outside edge when bleed is enabled.
Keep text, logos, and important details inside a safe margin rather than placing them near the trim line.
When to use no bleed
A no-bleed setup may work when the cover has a plain white border and no artwork reaches the edge. Many designed covers need bleed.
